Send your snaps to win a new photography competition

There are lots of reasons why 260,000 people call Waltham Forest home and the Council wants to know what they are so it can tell the rest of London how great the borough is.

If you’re handy with a camera or want to shout about a hidden gem you’ve discovered locally, you can get involved in a new photography competition – We Call it Home - by sending the Council your photographs of anything you love about Waltham Forest.

We Call it Home is open to anyone who lives in the borough and entries must be submitted in one of four categories – green space, character, way of life/lifestyle or entrepreneurs/business – before 12pm on Monday 31 March 2014.

One image will be selected as the winner and will feature in a special exhibition at the William Morris Gallery and be used in an advertising campaign to promote the borough. The winner will also receive a £100 photography voucher.

Leader Chris Robbins, said: “We want to find out what makes Waltham Forest home to local people. Whether it’s the open space you walk your dog in, your favourite Saturday morning breakfast spot, or a local character who makes sure you start your day with a smile, we want to know about all the hidden gems Waltham Forest has to offer.”
