George Mason Lodge to take part in World’s Biggest Coffee Morning

George Mason Lodge care home in Leytonstone will be brewing up as part of the world’s biggest coffee morning on Friday 26 September.

Local residents are invited to pop along for tea, coffee and homemade cakes from 11am to 1pm. The event is taking place as part of Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, where people across the UK come together to raise money for people living with cancer.

Staff at George Mason Lodge decided to hold the fundraising coffee morning in aid of Macmillan as team member Stavroulla Achillea is currently receiving treatment for cancer.

“This event is being held in aid of a wonderful cause, and I wish the staff and residents at George Mason Lodge the very best of luck with their fundraising efforts” said Councillor Angie Bean, Cabinet Member for Adult Services.

George Mason Lodge, which is located on Chelmsford Road in Leytonstone, is a purpose-built residential care home for 39 older people, run by Waltham Forest Council.
