'Night Feast before Christmas' Market Comes to Walthamstow

A Christmas edition of ‘Night Feast’ street market, named ‘The Night Feast before Christmas’ is coming to Walthamstow Town Square on Friday 9 December.

The Christmas event is being run by local event organisers Feast Forum, who were the team behind popular street market ‘Night Feast’, which ran through the summer and was commended for its unique local flavour, community and family-oriented feel. The team also organised a special Halloween-themed ‘Fright Feast’ market which took place at the end of October.

Supported by Waltham Forest Council and the Mayor of London, the aim of the event is to bring the community together to get into the festival spirit together.

As well as the usual excellent street food and drinks options, including mulled wine, there will a special arts and crafts market, which will be an ideal opportunity for some Christmas shopping. Adults are asked to bring along their homemade Christmas Yule Logs for a Bake Off-style competition, and children will be able to take part in a competition to find the best Christmas hat. Local choirs will also perform to ring in the Christmas cheer.

Cllr Clare Coghill, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and High Streets said: “It’s very exciting to have the Feast Forum team back for one more event this year. The Night Feast before Christmas is sure to be full of festive fun for everyone to enjoy, so I urge residents to go along and get the party season started in style.”

Chris Evans, event organiser, said: “Christmas is one of the fun times of the year and we aim to bring everyone together and build some Christmas spirit here in the centre of Walthamstow.”

The Night Feast before Christmas takes place on 9 December and will run from 5pm till late in the Town Square, opposite the big screen. Local individuals, groups and businesses interested in getting involved in Night Feast are welcome to get in touch with Chris Evans by emailing
